Ohio stiffens regulations after concluding that fracking caused earthquakes

Ohio state regulators announced tough new regulations on Friday after concluding that the injection of wastewater underground as part of the controversial gas-drilling process known as hydraulic fracturing or “fracking” had almost certainly caused a dozen earthquakes near one well.
The regulations will require well operators to supply extensive geological data before requesting a new drill site, avoid certain rock formations, and keep track of pressure, volume, and the chemical makeup of all drilling water using state-of-the-art technology.
Investigators pointed to “a number of coincidental circumstances” connecting the quakes in northeast Ohio, which began in March 2011 and continued to the end of the year, with a well which had begun operation three months earlier. They also noted the presence of a fault in the rocks that was identified only after drilling began.

Frightening Volcanic Venting Signals Coming Midwest Megaquake

A U.S. Midwest Megaquake: many say 'It can't happen here.' But it can, and it will. It's happened many times in the past and the odds are increasing that it's about to happen again soonmuch sooner than most people think. The last New Madrid Megaquake caused the Mississippi River to run backward, destroyed whole towns and villages in seconds, and killed an unknown number of people. And that was when most of the Midwest was sparsely populated. The next Megaquake would affect up to 160 million people, severely damage or destroy most of the supporting infrastructure, topple one or more major cities, potentially kill tens of thousands, and make a million or more homeless within a matter of mere minutes.

Earth's Death Star And The End Of America

From the British journal, New Scientist: "It is midnight on 22 September 2012 and the skies above Manhattan are filled with a flickering curtain of colourful light. Few New Yorkers have seen the aurora this far south but their fascination is short-lived. Within a few seconds, electric bulbs dim and flicker, then become unusually bright for a fleeting moment. Then all the lights in the state go out. Within 90 seconds, the entire eastern half of the US is without power.

"A year later and millions of Americans are dead and the nation’s infrastructure lies in tatters. The World Bank declares America a developing nation. Europe, Scandinavia, China and Japan are also struggling to recover from the same fateful eventa violent storm, 150 million kilometres away on the surface of the sun." [Space storm alert: 90 seconds from catastrophe]

New Madrid Fault Region: Area Residents Noticing Sulfur Smells In Arkansas And Missouri

http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread819207/pg1

Around the time of the 1811-12 New Madrid earthquakes, people in the area where the quakes occurred, noted the smell of sulfur, and especially after the quakes hit, many eyewitness accounts described a stench of sulfur in the air. This was due to the releasing of fumes from the magma chamber, up through cracks, with the pressure pushing it from the eruption sequence.

These smells are near to the area where some of the mass bird die offs recently happened in Arkansas as well.

The Mexico quake is a big one.  Is it a "pre-quake"?  I was just thinking that the quake map looked a little calm the last few days.  I usually check it every day.  No statistics, but just my personal opinion based on pattern recognition, I suppose.

Mexico earthquake rattles capital city

Mexico rocked by 7.8-magnitude quake, damaging buildings and closing airport in southern and central parts of country

A strong earthquake with an estimated magnitude of about 7.8 has rocked Mexico, with the authorities initially reporting minor damage and no loss of life.
The streets of the capital, Mexico City, filled with frightened people evacuated from buildings that swayed dramatically on Tuesday. Telephone networks were immediately saturated and power was cut in much of the capital. Schools reported panic attacks among some children.
The authorities said the epicentre of the quake was located below the Pacific coast near the border between the states of Oaxaca and Guerrero and close to the town of Pinotepa Nacional.

7.8, that is HUGE but it seems they may have minimal damage/loss of life going by reports so far which is very good news.

More than an hour after the quake, residents in Ometepec were feeling aftershocks, said Francisca Villalva Davila, the city's comptroller.

"There are many cracked ceilings, many houses that collapsed," she told CNN en Español.
